Allen Zadoff is an author who, writes about weight loss, food, and mens health from a male perspective. A formerlyly fat man who stopped overeating and lost more than 100 pounds, Allen also maintains a diet blog called The Hungry Man.
Hi, I’m Allen Zadoff, a thin writer who used to be fat. Above is a picture of me at the beach when I was 15 years old. Like most fat kids, I had a minor aversion to cameras which continues to this day.
My first book Hungry: Lessons Learned on the Journey from Fat to Thin is in bookstores now. Far from a diet book, Hungry tells the story of my journey up and down the scale and the things I learned about food—and life—along the way. Part memoir, part how-to, it’s a book for anyone who struggles with food, weight, and their body, whether fat, thin, or in-between. If you’d like a little taste, you can click here.
I also teach the Dynamic Stories Workshop, a popular writing workshop in Los Angeles. If you’d like to find out more click here.
“...a compelling read into one man's body transformation and life transformation. Allen writes with a passionate, funny, and honest voice and I think anyone who has journeyed through weight loss or food issues will relate to his work.”

“Gentle, funny... uncommonly appealing.”
