Inspiration: I was recently working on a literary adaptation and I found myself asking the question I always ask these days: Is there a way to engage with AI to make the process better? So I looked at my own method for approaching the adaptation and attempted to codify it into a broader tool for different kinds of writers.
It’s an AI work-in-progress, as are all my tools, but I like the way it flows. You begin with a target for adaptation, then you start to ask the hard questions. What is the essence of the original story, and what elements to I want to bring into my contemporary treatment of the material? How do I transform the story so it resonates and connects with a modern audience?
